Supporting Transparency, Sustainability, and Fewer Impacts from Mega Infrastructure Projects World-Wide

Headquartered in Washington D.C., the Observatory empowers civil society organizations to effectively engage in the mega-infrastructure agenda to:

(i) improve public participation in, and transparency and accountability of, regional master plans; and
(ii) mainstream sustainability, climate change and human rights considerations through responsible infrastructure investments.

The Observatory functions as an independent information clearing house and a hub for networked researchers, advocates and organizers on infrastructure development and finance across the Global North and South. The Observatory achieves its objectives through its three functions – research: information sharing and outreach; and advocacy – applied to two thematic areas: (i) transparency, participation and accountability; (ii) and responsible infrastructure investments.
